I have recently moved to the beautiful state of Florida, and love it here! New Mexico was my home prior to moving here. I have performed in many ensembles, and do solo recitals annually. My performance experience includes Symphony Orchestras, Pit Orchestras, Wind Ensembles, Chamber Music, Polka Band, Latin Band, Big Band, and I have been a guest soloist on several occasions. Since I used to be a middle school band director, I am extremely familiar with the teaching beginners. I customize all lessons to each student's goals. After students have passed through the fundamentals, we will work out of the Rubank intermediate or advanced books for technique development. I've found that presenting multiple solutions to varying problems gives the students the best chance to succeed and it's not that someone cannot learn, they just haven't been presented with an explanation they can understand and clicks for them. It is really fulfilling for me to see my students use the knowledge they gain from my instructions to improve their playing level.
