My teaching experience includes serving as a middle school band director, high school band director, middle school choir director, high school choir director, elementary school general music and choir teacher, and elementary school clarinet teacher. The youngest student I've ever taught was six years old, and I'm happy to work with children, adolescents, and adults. During undergrad in college, I also worked the music theory tutoring lab giving theory lessons to college students, so if a high school student is studying music theory, I would be able to assist with that as well. I have been teaching clarinet and piano since 2019. For each student, I focus on developing healthy practice habits (physically mentally) that allow them to be efficient and rewarded by their time spent with the instrument. I help students build a strong foundation of fundamentals so they are able to be successful working on more advanced literature. I encourage my students to perform in recitals and to compete as well as be apart of a band program as well. It is a great way to make wonderful friends. My teaching expereince dates back to before I graduated undergraduate school. Since I had a semester to wait for Commencement, I was afforded an opportunity to work as a Teacher assistant, in an Open Classroom Learning Environment. This immediately preceded a very rewarding Student Teaching experience in the rural southern state of North Carolina. I was as challenging an experience as I have ever had being that my travel mileage on some days was as much as 80 miles. Upon my return to New York, I was afforded an opportunity to teach Beginner Band Grades 4,5 and 6, per diem for one year.
