The cello’s sonorous and vibrant tone make it the most magnificent (razkochen) and lyrical instrument .With its deep and velvet tones the cello is the closest to the human voice instrument, following the inflection of speech and song. That make the cello unique and attempting children and adult to study it. The primary emphasis is on giving students a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of cello technique -- a relaxed, comfortable hand position, correct intonation, bowing, and tone production. I know everyone learns at different speeds so making sure they are comfortable yet challenging is important to me.Being able to know when the student is enjoying and not making it a chore is a key to helping and encouraging a student learn. Watching them progress in their insturment is rewarding in of itself and nothing is more satisfying. As the student starts to see him or herself accomplish each lesson I like to praise, push and encourage to keep on. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school, when I began teaching beginning students of all instruments 10 years ago. I have been consistently teaching students in their homes, my home, and online for the past 5 years. Ive found that introducing students to as many different styles of music as possible goes a long way in helping students enjoy playing their instrument and listening to recordings of their instrument. Every student is different and learns in different manners, which makes teaching a challenge. This is a challenge that motivates and excites me. I make sure to put all my effort into adapting to every student. Overall, I set reasonable goals for each student that are challenging, yet attainable. I believe in providing positive reinforcement while pushing a student to be better. Ultimately, my goal is to transfer my love for cello and music to the student and will always find a way to do so. Every student learns differently and is inspired differently. I believe it is important to have a solid knowledge of theory and note reading- If the student has this foundation then they are able to grow quite quickly as musicians. I think that consistency is the key to learning an instrument and trying to practice every day is ideal, but I have children of my own and I realize that this is not always possible. Read More

As students advance, I incorporate more sophisticated method books and introduce a diverse range of cello pieces tailored to their skill level. Emphasizing a comprehensive approach, I encourage the practice of scales and arpeggios using Hans Jensen's "Galamian Ivan Scale System" to strengthen their technical foundation. For adult learners, I engage in a collaborative discussion about their musical preferences after introducing them to cello basics. This allows me to tailor lessons to their interests, keeping the learning experience engaging and captivating. Read More
