Teaching and watching my students grow and develop as musicians is truly a rewarding experience. I help them accomplish their goals by understanding where they are and by setting challenging, fun, and realistic goals for each lesson. My goal is to create a disciplined but friendly environment for me and my students where respect and focus are the main pillars of every lesson allowing this way to enjoy the music learning process. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I approach music education in a practical way, what I mean with this is that I teach songs that my students like so they enjoy what they are learning. I encourage them to listen different kinds of music too so they can understand what music really is about. For Beginners and Intermediate students, I teach them songs that the want to learn and then I relate this songs to music theory, I teach them how to practice and how to learn technical parts of the instruments from the songs that they like. Teaching for me works best on an individual level. Students work on different levels and languages concerning music, and you have to be able to adapt to them. Some people might understand everything from the get go, some students need graphic support, some student need to learn song to understand what they are doing. The important part of being an instructor is not the actual material to be taught but being able to clear the way for the student to learn and teach himself, as well as providing a direction towards understanding the instrument and music through the taste and necessities of each student. Assumption #1: all my students want to learn to play well and perform well with other musicians Assumption #2: all my students will practice the material I assign and develop a consistent practice routine Fact #1: nothing comes from nothing (you must practice and practice regularly) Fact #2: you WILL become a good (possibly a great) musician if you follow Assumption #2 and NOT Fact #1 My teaching methods are born from: a) What was taught to me by my musical mentors and b) How my personal experiences have developed my musicianship through years and years of playing and performing.
