I began teaching voice 6 years ago, while still in my own undergraduate studies. Teaching bass and piano quickly followed once I realized how much I enjoyed the teaching side of music. I learned to love music at an early age, which got me into taking lessons, and eventually learning the process that is required to move a student forward. Slow and steady progress in all areas of music is the way I have learned, and is the way that I teach. Read More

Being the President of the Concert choir and secretary of the gospel choir during undergrad, I've had the privilege to teach the choir before the professors arrived. Schaum piano methods for the exercises(FINGERPOWER), theory(NOTESPELLER), and REPERTOIRE(Books named after specific colors). I like these books because they progress from simple to truly advanced. For the first couple lessons, you should expect me to evaluate the level of the student and isolate problem areas. I will help the student create short term and long term goals, whether it is for a class project or a giant audition coming up. I then tailor my lesson plans based off of those personal goals. I will get a feel for what each student is looking for in a coach and try my best to exceed those expectations by catering a method that is perfect for them. Read More
