Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I really take a look at what the student needs to learn and what the student wants to learn because I've seen a lot of students giving up because the institution or teacher is giving to much theory and very poor practice. I try to balance those responsibilities to a point that the student will always be learning something new as long as I work on their motivation and consistency of keeping up so they can learn how to play anything they like and want. I was fortunate enough to coach middle school violinists last summer, and I was able to help them individually, as well as help them perform together. I create lesson plans for students based off of their passions. If a younger child has never read music before, success is usually found in working with music that they are interested in. If a student is beginning to study improvisation a similar approach is used with styles of soloists that they are very familiar with. In voice lessons, I start with the Bel Cantor style of teaching and once the fundamentals of singing have been achieved, its time to learn how to break the rules and maintain a healthy singing voice. In teaching piano, I use the book Alfred Adult for my beginning students. Intermediate students will focus on music theory and learning to play from a chord chart if theyre leaning toward a more contemporary style of playing. Read More
