As a drummer that has played in all kinds of styles and venues, I can teach any skill level from the first time picking up sticks to making good drummers great and great drummers legendary. Using my experience as a school band director (4 years), I am also able to teach concert band instruments (trumpet, flute, trombone, etc.) as well as Jazz ensemble instruments (drum set, electric bass). I take the student at his/her own pace. I try to be sensitive to the needs of the student not just his/her musical needs but his/her academic needs as my ability to continue working with the student depends upon his/her academic success. I will suggest a basic routine at home: Housework, Practice, Study, Leisure, Bedtime. Both for Practice and Study I recommend organizing subject matter in order of least favorite to favorite which gets the least favorite out of the way and saves the best for last. Read More

Daniel has just completed his graduate degree from the University of Hawaii in 2012, with a Masters of Music Education degree with emphasis in instrumental music. While attending the University of Hawaii, he had the pleasure of working with Dr. Barbara McLain and completing his research study in Music Education.
