My method varies for every student but I have a very specific plan for each level of experience. Beginners would focus on essential elements books and beginner packets that cover basics and also have rewarding solo pieces. More advanced students would focus on scales and long tones with etudes for fundamentals and repertoire for solo playing and performances. With each student or students I first have to assess to see what level they are playing so that I can start them out at a level that would benefit them. I will be teaching online because of the fact that I am in a wheelchair and not able to get into the homes of the students that I teach. I have done this before and have been successful at it. I first find out what songs and styles of music my students are interested in, then determine what methods are best for my students to fulfill their musical goals. Some students have no experience reading music while others may be quite adept. Many of my students have been absolute beginners and it is a great joy to see them develop their skills and their passion!
