It was a great honor. Late into highschool I was accepted at the DCI CADETS for 3rd trumpet part. This is the second best drum corp (at the time) in the world out of over a dozen different division 1 corps. I introduce scales early in lessons. I not only teach traditional scale performance, I teach the mathematical and emotional significance of scales and intervals. Asa student's proficiency progresses, I introduce solo repertoire and encourage recording of solos through Smart Music software. This becomes a milestone ina student's development, as it rekindles interest through technology and creates excitement about professional musicianship.
