My teaching style is overall fairly laid back. I let my students set the pace, but I also expect them to be passionate, curious, and hard-working. I love to encourage students as they explore different areas of their playing, and try different ideas. I push my students just out of their comfort zone, and force them to take risks. I come up with a customized lesson plan for each of my students that will stay on the best possible path to success. Based on skill level, all lessons are geared toward progressing to a goal that the student sets while setting individual milestones. I choose a method book that is most appropriate for the student. I have been a professional musician for over 20 years playing with various groups including the U.S. Marine Band in Hawaii, and various cruise ships for Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Princess Cruises. I have also performed with recording artists such as Ben Vereen, Charro, Regis Philbin and the group Kansas, to name a few. I received my Bachelor's in Music Education from West Texas AM University in 2015 and my Masters in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University in 2017. Throughout school, I was fortunate to have had opportunities to perform with various ensembles at the statewide and national levels. These experiences I was able to bring to hone my own skills to perform and teach at a high level.
