Richard R

Instruments:

I have been a professional musician and teacher for over 25 years. I have taught as an adjunct Professor of Jazz Guitar at Miami-Dade Community College. I have also taught as a general music teacher for the Broward Public Schools in south Florida and for the Cobb County District Schools in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I have studied guitar privately for 15 years with Vince Bredice who has published many books on guitar for Mel Bay Publishers, one of the largest music publishers in the world. I have done private studies in Early Music of the Renaissance period with Joseph Iadone a disciple of Paul Hindemith. I attended seminars in Jazz Guitar with legendary guitarists Joe DiOrio, Tal Farlow and Jack Wilkins. My philosophy of teaching is to help the student play the music that he or she wants to play and give the student a practical understanding of the guitar and music theory. I teach the skills that enable the student to apply themselves to all forms of music. Each student is an individual and is taught in a manner that inspires his or her personality.

Throughout my career, I have performed as solo and group artist with with various opera and theater companies and performance venues throughout the world. I am also a composer in the making!  Currently, I am working on my first major musical, which is called "Beyond The Blues."  I have also had the humbling opportunity of being featured in the media and honored through several awards for my craft.

I have experience in overseas travel for performance, in which gives me an edge of diversified interaction with aspiring musicians. During my collegiate career I have had the opportunity to perform with Intercolligiate bands across the nation and the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.

Felix G

Instruments:

I started studying music when I was 5 on violin. At age of 6 I added piano. At middle school I started learning clarinet and saxophone to enrich my background. A bit later I added guitar. I was taking the most comprehensive classes which included ensembles, chorus, orchestra, band, solfeggio and music theory.  I continued my music education at Music College on violin for another 4 years. My family moved to Israel, and I continued my education at Jerusalem Music Academy on violin and guitar, and graduated with Bachelor Degree in Music Performance and Education.

Aubrey C

Instruments:

I am a professional educator in Georgia’s public school system. I have a passion for teaching and learning and believe that students should be well rounded individuals in their academics, including music and the arts. I am very skilled in working with diverse student populations and students of various learning styles and abilities. As a gifted education teacher my background in music plays an integral role in my student’s success as I am able to integrate music and other subject matters into a student’s learning. I have recently taught at the Summer Institute for the Gifted at Emory University and enjoy teaching younger students just as much as I enjoy teaching older students. I received my B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and M.Ed. degree from Cambridge College. I began playing the piano at the age of 8 when my parents noticed that I had a gift for music and immediately enrolled me with a local piano teacher.  I have been playing the piano ever since and it is my most passionate of interests.

More Information About Piano Lessons

For the sake of lessons and practice, a keyboard is often a much more viable option than buying a piano. Pianos are space consuming and expensive, as well as being very loud. Keyboards are perfect - especially for beginners - as they are more diverse in their functionality. Most keyboards come with a range of different sounds and effects (FX), such as chorus, reverb and synthesizer sounds. Another great feature common to many keyboards is a record function. This allows students to hear things back after they have played them, such as practicing scales etc... or to record ideas they are composing!
Music lessons in your home offer a convenient option to learning music! Most of our students request in home lessons for this reason. As long as you have a piano or keyboard in your home, then you should be all set to start your lessons! Children who have never played an instrument before may feel more comfortable studying in their own home, as it may be less intimidating than going somewhere else. In home lessons decrease the time and gas money spent traveling to a different location.
Musika piano lessons can be tailored to suit students of all abilities, whether they are beginners, intermediates or advanced level players. For beginners, the basics will be taught. This will include learning the correct posture, hand position and fingering technique. It will include learning the notes and scales of the piano, learning basic chords and chord progressions, developing the musical ear and learning to apply these things to simple songs. Intermediate players can start to increase their playing speed in order to perform runs, fills and solos, they can broaden their chord playing to things like augmented chords, diminished chords, slash chords and so on... They can work on their sight reading, music theory - such as learning different time signatures - and applying these skills to more complex songs. For advanced players, they will be adding an edge to their playing, such as improvisational skills, repertoire and genre-specific work, like learning Jazz or Romantic piano.
We offer piano lessons for students of all ages, including adults. Whether you are a complete beginner on the instrument, or you have not played the piano in many years, our knowledgable instructors can definitely assist you in your journey of developing your musical skills.
Piano lessons for children will focus on learning the fundamentals of the technique of the instrument and learning to read music and rhythm. We suggest beginning piano lessons no earlier than age 4, due to the attention span of the child, as well as the strength they have in their hands for playing. Piano Lessons will offer an excellent introduction to learning music for a child. Music theory and musicianship skills will also be taught during the lessons. Piano lessons are a great choice for introducing the art of music to your child!
