I enjoy teaching Children and Adults I have an AA Degree from Miami Dade College 1972  I have a BS Degree from Florida International University 1974 and Post Graduate work at Florida International University and University of Florida  My major instrument is piano I have been teaching piano for over 40 years and have taught school in the Miami Dade County School System, Alachua County School System and Columbia County School Systems  In addition I have taught in Public and Private Schools The range of ages I have experience with are ages 5 through adults I enjoy working with both beginners and intermediates I afford the students the ability to demonstrate their talents and love of music through recitals   Read More

For beginning students I usually start with Essential Elements 2000 for strings because it helps them get familiarized with the notes on the music staff even when they don't have any music theory knowledge. I also like to use Suzuki as they progress with the instrument and know the essentials like how to hold the instrument properly and how to hold the bow properly. Suzuki is also for beginners but it has a little more complex exercises which is why I wait to introduce Suzuki to them. Read More

They have to have a different plan than the student who is recovering from vocal damage. Everything must be tailored to the individual voice. The bulk of what we do is going to be vocalizing and technique, teaching you how to use your voice is the best way for your goals. Secondarily, we will focus on repertoire. The reason I like the Accent of Achievement method book series is because it is not intimidating for kids to look at as beginners.
