Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and want to continue to play the violin not just as a hobby! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and knowing the strength behind private lessons as opposed to group lessons only. The student is more likely to progress if they are consistently practicing and have private lessons with their teacher to develop technique and skill in a one-on-one learning environment. Read More

I am a passionate and motivated professional cellist who loves working with students and sharing my experience and knowledge. I graduated from Kyiv National University in 1997 and performed with many European orchestrasts, touring Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and of course the United States. I worked as a principal cellist in the Chernihiv Philarmonic Orchestra (Ukraine) for 25 years, a few years ago I moved with my family to the United States and started my musical journey here. For students of all levels, introducing the necessary techniques for their development as a cellist through pieces they find enjoyable and challenging is my top priority. Beginners I typically progress quickly through a variety of beginner books such as the Essential Elements or the Susuki method depending on the age and determination of the student, with a focus on learning recognizable and enjoyable tunes. Intermediate cellists will have either Goltermann or Bach works sprinkled in between pieces and arrangements they'd like to play. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Ukulele Keyboard Acoustic Guitar
For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs. My years of being a private teacher has taught me that every student has a different level of potential, motivation ,time to devote ,etc. It is important to establish a friendly rapport . The lesson has to be a good experience and the pace on information given should not make the student frustrated and at the same time it is important for the student to get excited and have fun with this experience.
