I am an experienced teacher with a wide variety of expertise. Studying the challenging music of jazz and classical in two of the worlds best music schools has given me very advanced musical understandings and skills. I am also an independent singer/songwriter and love to teach theory. Performing in smalls clubs singing and playing guitar, playing upright bass in major NYC clubs like Smoke, or grabbing my electric bass and laying it down - these are my jams. Read More

I am adaptable to what interests and clicks with you as a musician, so if you want to dive deep into music theory, including music notation, harmony, advanced rhythms, awesome. If you would rather learn by ear and reading basic chord charts and lead sheets, no problem. Regardless, I like to start with establishing good form and a basic understanding of musical terms. From there, well look at the music that inspires you and craft a strategy to increase your comfort and proficiency in that area. Read More

I am a kind, patient man who believes that learning to play music is it's own reward. I struggled frequently while I was learning the guitar, and I don't believe that there is a right or wrong pace to learning. Each student is different, but all students should feel excited about learning, and rewarded by the work that they put in. My style is simply to encourage students as they progress and address difficulties in a positive and and constructive method. Read More

My teaching methods are much different than what I grew up with. I remember at times being so worried to go to my lessons. I want my time with the students to be positive, open and understanding. In terms of books and repertoire, I do love using Hal Leonard for beginners. Once fundamentals are in place we can explore repertoire together so that the student is truly learning music they love and enjoy. Read More

I graduated with a music degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania on piano in 2020, with secondary focuses on flute and organ. I grew up in Elderton and I have been in love with music since before I could read. I have had various opportunities throughout high school and college to perform on piano and flute. These experiences have made me who I am today. I enjoy teaching piano so much and am reading into piano pedagogy. Read More
