I began teaching guitar part-time about 6 years ago as a side job, on top of my then-main gig as a grocery store clerk. Slowly but surely, however, I added more and more students to my roster and was able to phase out the grocery store job, and today I teach guitar full time! I always like to have the students first develop a strong interest in music right away - so I like to start off with something that specifically interest them - song, piece....ect. Once the student is able to feel the joy from playing, it makes the learning process feel much less cumbersome and much more enjoyment based. I want my students to internalize what they are playing so that it can become a part of them. They should become one with the music.
