I like all types of music and am currently learning to produce music, play the piano and guitar. I am always up to date on new styles, bands, artists etc. I listen to music all day and plan on going to college for music. For students who are young with no musical background I start with the Essential Elements series. At the next stage, I challenge the student based on their interests. I tend to push students to learn jazz, as its the basis for all drum set playing, but know that most kids are more interested in other more modern styles and accommodate them accordingly. After a student gains basic familiarity with their instrument I use a metronome (a musician's best and worst friend.
