Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I graduated in 1985 from H.H. Lehman College with a Master's (MAT) in Music Education.I taught Music at E.R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn NY and retired in 2011. I taught Music and the Arts at Touro College in Brooklyn NY from 2004-2018. I presently moved to South West Florida. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the guitar and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to learn and perform their favorite music, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I believe goals are very important in order to progress. However, each student progresses at their own pace. I like setting small goals weekly, and often times incorporate techniques into songs. Seeing students achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. I'll ask students to bring pencil and paper to each lesson and will designate technical goals, fretboard knowledge, and whatever the student's goal is (learning a song, another scale, solo part, etc).
