My teaching experience began at the University of Tulsa. I taught voice to a few students who were non music majors for about a year. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year. For children, I focus on the comprehension of pitch and note reading. If the child has a song that he or she wants to sing, then we will pursue it if it is vocally fitting. If not, I have a variety we can choose from. We also will pursue the fundamentals of music theory in our lessons as well. I have had the pleasure of singing professionally for over a decade. From 2007 to 2011, I sang in the chorus of the Tulsa Opera. After fulling my final contract, I relocated to Edmond/Oklahoma City to attend The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). There, I completed my Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in May of 2015 and my Master of Music (M.M.) in May of 2018, both in Vocal Performance. If you don't build a trustworthy relationship with your student and learn about who they are and what they like then, you will not have a successful turn out. I believe in only sticking with what the student is comfortable with learning. I will push and stretch them when it is needed, but I like to start by asking "what do you want to learn?"
