I'm a professional trombonist, composer, and music teacher in Miami, Florida who is dedicated to the study of music. I am a lecturer in the University of Miami's jazz and studio music program, where I have taught music theory, ear-training, and jazz ensembles. I also teach Saturday music theory classes to students ages 7-18 at a local community arts program. So I tend to each student's individual needs on a case-by-case basis. With many years experience and training, I have worked with students of all ages and abilities. My students are successful because lessons are challenging but fun, positive and enjoyable. I believe in positive reinforcement, setting goals with the student, regular feedback and encouragement, and helping the student reach their potential. I'm a passionate instructor who loves to share my love of music and discover all the possibilities that a student can have with the instrument. I graduated from the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory with a bachelor in trombone performance. Working as a trombonist with the Navy band Southeast, I'm constantly performing in different ceremonies and teaching masterclasses around the Southeast area of the US, including Puerto Rico. As a soloist and freelance musician I'm very active in the Jacksonville scene, not only playing classical music, but also latin music and popular music; with Symphony Orchestras and other small and large ensembles. I have been teaching private lessons at Northside Christian School for almost 2 full years at this point, and have been helping out during marching band season every year since 2017. During the first part of 2021, I have also substituted for jazz instructor during the school year of Tarpon Springs High School, and while there I have taught more students on jazz improvisation as well as fundamentals on the trombone.
