I graduated with my Master's Degree in Jazz Performance at Berklee's Global Jazz Institute I believe that music is a manifestation of the complexities of the human condition and can act as a conduit of change and inspiration. When I start out with a student, I want to know what music they like to listen to and what they want to learn to play. I always find that it is important to connect the music to what the student is passionate about. This connection allows them to be even more excited about learning music theory fundamentals and scales, which are the building blocks to greater musical expertise. In the summer of 2022, he served as an artist fellow in the Atlantic Music Festival, giving varied performances in orchestral, chamber and solo settings. To fuse his dedication to performance with his interest in academic research, Tommy also presented a full lecture recital in the recent conference on cultural assimilation in music hosted by the University of Calgary. Furthermore, an equally devoted performer on the euphonium, he has been invited to play with the New England Brass Band and has been performing with the Boston University Wind Ensemble on an assistantship since 2021.
