I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who enjoys helping students unravel the mysteries of music. I graduated with honors from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014. While studying at IUP, I was principal bassoon of our ensembles and played in many chamber groups as well. In 2015, I won the Graduate Assistantship at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. For my beginning students I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Then we move to the "Arban" book and eventually start working on solo rep. Another thing I like to implement is the breathing gym, which not only helps as a musician but can also assure you having clear lungs! I usually try to do fun things for example if my student is young I ask them whats their favorite pop song and I usually arrange it or find an arrangement and spend a lesson doing that, or even teaching them to learn it by ear. My methods vary from student to student. I believe strongly in making sure students are learning what they want to learn and adapting to every students needs! While I will employ different techniques with each student, I do tend to use several concepts universally. I like to use a Kodly based system to teach all styles of music.
