I want my students to enjoy their music lessons, I don't want it to feel like a chore. It can be really fulfilling when I see a student playing or singing something with joy! I pay close attention to what exercises students seem to want to spend the most time on and the ones they get frustrated with. I'm a New York based multi-instrumentalist eager to share the craft of making music. I have been performing and teaching professionally for 15 years, since having moved to New York to study at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. There, I learned many styles of music and skills that I use to this day while performing. My primary goal as a teacher is to help students make practical steps toward better playing by identifying areas of difficulty and working with the student to establish reasonable goals. In learning music, improvement comes through setting clear goals and performing consistent exercises that address areas of weakness. My desire is to work with students to identify those areas of weakness and help them find applicable exercises.
