Everything depends on what instrument the student is learning. For violin, viola, and cello lessons I typically use a few different method books and handout sheets for the first few lessons, and then switch to using Suzuki books once the basic concepts have been mastered. For ukulele students I try to find out what the student is interested and tailor their lessons to include the types of songs they want to learn to play. Read More

I've enjoyed teaching piano, violin and viola students, for the past seventeen years! And what I've generally found is, that it's not how long you practice, but how well. I feel that a student needs to be taught how to practice! I travel around Westchester NY and in addition to teaching the instrument, I encourage students to compose their own original pieces. I also learned to work with students with special needs in the Boston Conservatory Program for Students on the Autism Spectrum program, where I was a founding staff member.
