Since graduation, I was the director of jazz at Valor Voyager Academy, working in conjunction with Jazz Empowers, a nonprofit that installs and maintains jazz bands as an after school activity for schools with no music program. My efforts since my engagement at Valor Voyager have been centered around performing, and; though fruitful, I feel that I am at my best when I am teaching. As a result I was named the UTM Community Music Academy's 2016 Teacher of the Year. While in Las Vegas I taught not only high school and middle school students but was the teacher for UNLV's non music major saxophonists as well. In 2017 I was one of the judges for the Clark County (Nevada) Honor Bands. For older students I pick method books more specific to their age, learning style, and progress while still focusing on key points of interest for the student.
