Each student learns differently and has trouble with differnt things, therefore I adapt the way I teach a student based on their needs, learning style and skill level. What the student is interested in is also very important in order to keep the student engaged. Most topics can be taught using various types of music that the student is interested in. Read More

Having at least some goal in mind and working towards that musical goal will help a student achieve success in whatever they put forth on their instrument of choice as well as music as a whole. It will be ultimately extremely satisfying to express feelings through the notes as we take them from on the page to in the air. Sharing this joy of music will be also undeniably rewarding from student to student as well as performer to audience. Read More

I learned to read music in middle school, originally as flute player. The summer prior to my freshman year in high school I thought myself how to play the saxophone and participated in the band camp at Cass Tech High School in Detroit, Michigan. By my sophomore year, I was the section leader and by the time I graduated high school I had over 10 full scholarship offers from several universities. Read More
