Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I am a passionate music educator who loves working with instrumental students of all ages. In 2015, I graduated from Carson-Newman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education. During my time there, I participated in many ensembles and was awarded with several honors for my saxophone performance abilities. During this time, I also studied the oboe as my secondary instrument. My performance experience started at a very young age and consisted of entertaining myself in front of the mirror (at age 2), and creating shows for family. I started doing musicals and concerts at church around age 4 and entered community theatre around age 6. My enthusiasm for the performing arts continued to grow throughout childhood, and my teenage years. Though I adapt my approach and conversation techniques for all of my students, my underlying philosophy is the same for every student Ive ever taught. The philosophy is that progress is what were striving for, not perfection. I assess the skill and technical abilities and grow from that point. I believe in music as a method of self expression, as well as a way to experience playing music with others in a band. I individualize my lessons to each student as an individual person. Everyone has their own learning style and personality, and I adapt to the student sitting in front of me. My students choose their style preferences and choose songs that they like. I began teaching through my high school mentorship program in Texas during the early 2000s. Since then I have obtained my Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Northwestern State University, as well as a Master's degree in Trombone Performance. I did a semester of student teaching with the award winning Argyle High School band program in Argyle, Texas in 2012. I have additional experience teaching at the college level by providing weekly lessons to music students who played trombone as a graduate teaching assistant. Read More
