I am a professional performing guitarist, and vocalist. I have over 15 years teaching private guitar lessons and beginner piano, and keyboard. I have over a year of online teaching experience. I currently teach online guitar and music lessons with outschool.com. Previously, I have been a classroom music teacher at a private school. I taught private guitar lessons at New Song Guitar Center in Maryland. Plus, I have taught many private guitar and music students, in a home music studio and in student homes. I love all kinds of music, including blues, rock and roll, rock, folk, and more. You can choose your own style and songs, and we can learn them.
I have over 15 years experience teaching guitar lessons. Currently, I teach guitar and music on Outschool.com I have also taught beginner piano / keyboard and flute. My guitar students have been from age 11 to over 70 years old. I have taught special needs adults and children. I also have experience teaching preschool music. I especially love teaching private guitar lessons and seeing my students' confidence and self esteem grow, as they explore their skills and creative side. I am looking for guitar students from age 11 and up, at most levels. I can also take beginner piano and keyboard students.
I believe in music as a method of self expression, as well as a way to experience playing music with others in a band. I individualize my lessons to each student as an individual person. Everyone has their own learning style and personality, and I adapt to the student sitting in front of me. My students choose their style preferences and choose songs that they like. Some of my students work on sight reading, but it is not always necessary . I can work on song writing with you, or how to figure out songs by listening to them.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and inspiring. I individualize the lessons and teaching methods used, based on the learning style, age, and needs of the student. Each person is a unique individual, and requires the teacher to adapt and be flexible in order to help them learn the best way. I love to watch my students grow in competence and in self confidence, and to see that self confidence expand into other areas of their lives. I believe in supporting the whole person , with a holistic teaching strategy.
