While at Eastern I studied with Christopher Howard, a member of the United States Coast Guard Band. I have also spent summers at Brevard Music Center and the Philadelphia International Music Festival, studying with Steve Cohen, David Blumberg, and Ricardo Morales, as well as working as the production intern for the Hartford Symphony Orchestras Talcott Mountain Music Festival. In my time at Eastern, I won the New England Intercollegiate Band Festival Solo Competition, as well as receiving multiple awards from the music department, including the 2019 Undergraduate Creative Activity Fellowship, and the 2020 Outstanding Honors Thesis Award for my project, Leonard Bernstein and the Twentieth Century Crisis of Faith. I'm a dedicated music instructor committed to creating a stimulating and inclusive environment for my students. I received a B.A in music with a concentration in Jazz Performance from the College of Charleston in 2021. During my four years studying music in Charleston I became immersed in the local music scene and have performed in a wide variety of settings from jazz ensembles to playing in the pit orchestra for musical theater. I spend a lot of time performing on various stages, playing guitar, banjo, and keyboards primarily. I love sharing what I know with others, and I especially love seeing someone I've taught succeed in their chosen path. I've taught young children how to collaborate musically, I've taught people to play the banjo, guitar, piano, and I've taught music classes to bigger groups. I am an experienced musician and have played a number of genres. I also have experience in playing the 4 standard types of saxophone (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone). During my undergrad I held leadership roles in multiple ensembles which required me to train and teach students of various skill levels and ages.
