Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Before this, I taught elementary school-age children in summer camp, was a lead teacher at a preschool for children ages 1-5, and taught solo French horn students from local high schools throughout my college career. I have had success with all age groups, using my skills to break down the toughest musical passages into simple and easy-to-understand instruction. Most recently, I have been accepted to present at the state music educators conference with a colleague. Read More

My goal in teaching music is to give the student the tools and confidence to find their own voice. Understandably that concept requires students to have a level of passion and independents that not all of them will start off with, but I believe those things can be promoted by approaching the student-instructor relationship as a partnership. Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Viola, Trombone, Electric Violin, Double Bass, Music, Keyboard, Acoustic Guitar
I have had plenty of experience teaching both privately and in a classroom setting. I began teaching private lessons on the piano and violin in high school, where I mainly had elementary school beginners. In college, I continued to teach private lessons and also had plenty of opportunities to work with students of all different ages and skill levels in a variety of settings. I took plenty of college level courses on education and music and eventually completed my student teaching in a middle and high school orchestra classroom. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Trumpet, Saxophone, Drums, Orchestral Percussion, Latin Percussion, Music, Djembe
I create my own lesson plans (and some materials) specific to each student. Some standard books I use are Alfred's Drum Method book 1, The New Breed, Portraits in Rhythm, The Drummer's Complete Vocabulary to name a few. The books are necessary for developing music literacy, however I remind students that the pages don't make sound!!! Developing a discerning ear is paramount in my approach. Therefore we do a lot of listening and I engage students in dialogue for them to develop a personalized mental image of what they are trying to play. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Recorder, Piccolo, Mallet Percussion, Music, Keyboard
I believe that music students are not "one size fits all", so I create an individual approach catered to each student's strengths, weaknesses, and interests. For beginners, I typically start with the very basics such as putting the instrument together(if applicable), posture/form, and fingerings. Then, I will cater my teaching materials to the student and their situation, which sometimes means the majority of their work is print materials. Read More
