Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I love seeing students enjoy their music lessons! I typically begin the lesson asking the student how their practice went for them, allowing them to communicate their successes and struggles from the previous week's practice. We then set some attainable goals for the lesson, and the student then shows off whatever they worked on that week. I've found that in an effective lesson, the student spends 50% of the lesson or more actually playing the instrument, rather than spending the whole time listening to instruction. Read More

For beginning adults I try to determine exactly what they are wanting to achieve by starting an instrument at this point in life.
