I have always believed that music is a conversation between the musician and the audience, and the instrument is the interpreter. With this in mind, with any age, I start with a regular conversation. Knowing the passion, interest level, and motivation of the students helps me create a method of teaching that is specific to the individual. I also learn their experience and knowledge level. I've studied classical music and music theory since I was 8-years-old and made the 5A Texas All-State Band my junior year of high school. I received a scholarship to study music education at A&M-Commerce University. After two years, I decided to move to San Marcos to perform in the central Texas area. I began teaching at the age of 18 my first student was a 24 year old who was an older brother of a friend.
