For piano students, I prefer Alfred's methods, whether the adult or for beginners. For band and orchestra, I use Essential Elements (or whatever their school is using), and supplement with Rubank's methods. For voice, I concentrate on whatever the student is interested in, with a foundation of good technique and understanding of the voice range and how to control it, with some solfege and sight-singing mixed in. I am using my experience with Musika to hone my skills as an educator. I have participated in clinics in Japan and Korea, where I developed skills in individual and group instruction. I have worked with sectionals in the army in addition to directing rehearsals. I am a dedicated clarinetist and private teacher in the Pittsburgh area, currently pursuing a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance degree at Carnegie Mellon University. I have travelled across the east coast to perform in venues including Carnegie Hall in New York City and The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. In May 2021, I recieved my Bachelor of Music of Clarinet Performance from Temple University. In 2019, I received the Semper Fidelis award from the Marine Corps in recognition of my diligence, dedication and musical excellence as a performing high school bandsman and soloist. I continued my clarinet studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where I recently graduated with a major in Music Performance alongside my additional major in Computational Biology.
