My teaching experience dates back to my high school years, 8 years ago, when I was a section leader for my marching band and I got to teach marching routines and lead sectionals for my section. Later, at my undergraduate degree, I got hired at three different middle and high schools to teach private lessons and give master classes. I am a dedicated and patient instructor with many years teaching experience in many different settings. For the past ten years I was professor of clarinet and music technology at Mansfield University in rural northern Pennsylvania. I have recently returned to my hometown of Chicago for family reasons and I'm looking forward to teaching private students again. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I always held passionate teaching as the key to passionate artists. My teaching career began early, while I was still a university student, teaching privately. Later I was the Clarinet instructor at Carl Sandburg High School and A.A. Stagg High school. In Los Angeles I was again a private instructor, but also a faculty member at the Beverly Hills Conservatory of Music. I never imagined God had plans for me to be a music teacher. I had taken piano lessons for about 15 years (later adding recorder, guitar, violin, clarinet, saxophone, and cello) and was working as a front desk receptionist in a music school when a teacher notified us of an unexpected long-term absence. Upon completion of this run in Vermont, Anthony relocated to Chicago, Illinois. He has since been highly active in the Musical Theatre scene; typically having a full schedule of performances in a variety of theaters, such as Music Theater Works, Metropolis, Porchlight and Drury Lane. Anthony has also become a member of the band “Mike Flood & Co.” is the current Secretary/ Treasurer of the TMA Chicago Chapter and serves as woodwind coach for the CYSO. Read More

At home during the summers, I was a clarinet instructor at Lyons Township High School’s summer band programs for junior high students. When I moved to Chicago in 2015 to begin my graduate studies at DePaul, I continued teaching through Musika and DePaul’s Community Music Division. I’m currently preparing to begin my third year on faculty at The People’s Music School, where I teach private lessons, group classes, music theory, and chamber music to students ranging from elementary beginners to advanced high schoolers at multiple sites throughout Chicago.
