While there is no "One-size-fits-all" for all students, I start most students off with Essential Elements or Suzuki. As they progress I try to include pieces they like, pop songs, and different genres. The variety helps them stay engaged, learn a bit about different styles to broaden their knowledge, but also, have fun. As they get intermediate levels the paths diverge. I started teaching at the young age of 16 back in my hometown up in New York. I enjoyed it thoroughly and have been teaching privately ever since. I currently teach 7 students on weekends and three during the week. I enjoy teaching and care about my students. This year I am teaching Strings in public schools and am enjoying it very much. I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee where as a young person I played cello and bass in all sorts of groups - from rock and funk bands to jazz big bands and combos. I fell in love with classical music in my early 20s, and I've pursued it passionately ever since. I earned a M.M. in cello performance in 2019 from FSU where I studied with Greg Sauer. I also hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, where I double majored in International Studies and Spanish. Read More
