I first began teaching music lessons as a way to earn extra money for college and I have been teaching ever since. I have been mostly a freelance teacher, but I have substitute taught many times at Musical Beginnings in Vancouver, Washington. I meet students "where they are". Of course this can mean I drive to their home, but I really mean that I see what level and interest YOU are at, then work on expanding your interest to new levels. As long as I can remember, I've been interested in music. My father used to rock me to sleep while listening to classic singer-songwriter records, so I remember having an affinity towards music, and towards the guitar in particular, since I was very young. When I started buying music with my own money, I bought the music of rock instrumental virtuosos like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.
