For me, the main goal of my lessons is for my students to develop a real love of music. To me it matters not if a student plays music as a hobby or intends for it to be a profession - what is most important is that they're meeting goals they have set for themselves and are having fun doing so. Although my lessons have a clear structure to them, I always make sure that the content of these lessons are interesting and exciting for each student. Read More

I have a deep and passionate love for all things music, whether it's teaching, performing, writing, or listening, and I love being able to share that with my students. I did my undergrad program at UMass Lowell and have achieved my Bachelors degree in Music Studies. I currently still attend the University, where I am striving to get my Masters degree in Music Teaching. Outside of school I enjoy writing and recording my own music, and I occasionally play live shows when I can. Read More

Music has been my passion since grade school. I began teaching in the fall of 2006 and have engaged with students of all ages. I welcome the wide eyed enthusiastic child who can't wait to learn and perform, as well as the reluctant, but determined adult who just wants to play for fun or take on a new challenge. After attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston for 2 years, I joined Merrimack Valley's favorite local band the B. Read More

I make sure that my students have not only a complete understanding of the instrument, but also of the music that they are playing. This is vital in the making of a well-rounded musician. Whether or not you are in your own band, school band, studying classical music or playing jazz, developing your musicianship and understanding of music will take you to new heights. It is important to me to give my students the tools to develop their own music, bass lines or guitar parts, improvisations, interpretations, and creative voice. Read More

For beginning students I prefer to use either Alfred's, Mel Bay, or Hal Leonard method books. I generally stay away from method books that use guitar tablature because I find that student will prefer to read the tablature instead of standard musical notation. Tablature is a good way to easily show how guitar parts are played, but is not useful when teaching standard notation, music theory, harmony, etc. In addition to using a method book, I will also teach the student popular songs, which is a great way to start teaching chords and song structure in addition to keeping the lesson fun and the student engaged. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
