I am a very passionate musician, with a love for passing on the gift of music. I graduated from Shepherd University in 2012 with a BA in Voice Performance. I then went on to complete an MM and GPD in Opera from The Longy School of Music of Bard College. During my degree programs, I was able to study and sing around the world with many leading performers and teachers. I have been teaching for over ten years, and it brings me so much joy to be able to help my students find their musical voice. For beginner piano students, I have two methods books that I use. For young children, I use the Bastion Piano Basics series. It is colorful, fun, and exciting for young learners. It is also very informative, so parents can help their young ones practice if they need the help! For beginning adult students, I use the Faber Adult Piano Adventures series, as this is more tailored to older students. It is less focused on colorful visuals, and uses language geared toward older learners. Read More

For my beginner students, who are younger, I start off with the Faber series in the Primer levels. After progressing through the first few levels of the series, I then start to introduce solo repertoire depending on the interests of the student. For my older students, we also go through the Faber Adult Piano Adventures book, where we learn the basics of piano along with some fun pieces. I teach more information outside of the book which is not taught until later to get ahead. Read More

When I finally signed up for professional guitar lessons, I found that there were not just many things to learn, but many things to unlearn. I went back to school to study music at Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida where I learned Voice and String Pedagogy. From the young age of five years old, I begin training in opera. I never understood why my teacher was so passionate about teaching me operatic techniques, but now as an adult, I can appreciate the versatility that learning opera gave me. I went on to be a part of the Rhode Island Children's Chorus, learning from Dr. Christine Noel. Eventually, in my high school years, I became an apprentice with the chorus and began teaching.
