I am a caring and compassionate vocal music teacher and I teach to intermediate level piano and theory as well. I believe music is for everybody and should be explored. I particularly focus on vocal health in my lessons. I have sung in a local opera company as well as in countless weddings and funerals. I love all kinds of music, from classical to jazz, Bollywood and beyond! Encouraging my students to keep a consistent practice schedule is a main factor to success that I emphasize to my students, but more importantly, I also help them identify styles of music that they love. This can mean helping students find pieces of music that inspire them to keep up practice or using improvisation to spark an interest in jazz and composing their own music. I have found that helping students find their musical interests early on facilitates retention, regular practice, and most importantly, enthusiasm for music. Read More

I hold a degree from Case Western Reserve University where I studied art and music theory. My professional experience includes singing with a Chorale that performed with the Cleveland Symphony and performances as a soloist with choirs in Ohio and Michigan. I founded and was the director of the Academie des Beaux-Arts, a performing arts school and the Actors Alliance Theatre, a professional theater company that gave young people a chance to perform with professional actors. Since 2011, during the summers, I was an employee for the New York Summer Music Festival or NYSMF for short. I started at NYSMF as a counselor and music theory teacher and I later earned a position as TA and Commercial Voice-Over Teacher. The festival is a wonderful place that hosts 11 to 21 year olds at SUNY Oneonta for 2-week session jampacked with ensemble rehearsal, solo and ensemble performances, guest artist concerts, classes, faculty/staff or student showcases, masterclasses and so much more.
