From a family of musicians, I started playing the cello at the age of 5. After being a cellist for the Conservatory of Quebec Orchestra in Saguenay, I switched to percussion. I recorded the Flight of the Bumble Bee for the first time at age 14 and became a symphonic percussionist later with the National Art Center Orchestra of Canada as well as for the Ottawa Symphony while playing for the Starlighters and Savoy Swing Band at the Penguin cafe in Ottawa. I approach teaching by focusing on the student. I find out what they need and want first. We set realistic goals together and I give them the tools to help them reach their goals. I don't want my students to be entirely dependent on me. I like to give them exercises to do on their own in between lessons so that time doesn't go to waste and they can see quicker improvement with their own practicing. Read More

I've also found that a combination of classical, traditional world music and modern music have a very students enjoy the singing or playing and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. I create a fun and relaxed environment on my lessons to make students learn new things with interest and develop their skills without any fear and blocks. I like to base my teaching pedagogy purely around the child, the family, and their learning skills.
