For beginning student, I usually start with Suzuki Violin School. This is a pretty good methods for student to begin their violin life. There are many etudes like Wohlfahrt's 60 Studies For the Violin, Mazas' 30 Etudes Speciales and so on, I will make their individual plan introduce the Etude which fit them the best to my student to make progress on performance skill efficiently. For beginning students who are children, I like to use the Suzuki violin method. While they beginning to show progress Ill begin to include F. Mazas Melodios and Progessive Studies and the Wohlfahrt Studies combined with appropriate solo repertoire. For adults, I prefer to find out what their interest is focus on and I guide my instruction acording to this. While in Austin, Joseph ran a successful teaching studio of over 30 violin and viola students that regularly placed in TMEA All-Region Orchestras, UIL State Solo Ensemble Contest, and were members of the Austin Youth Orchestra.
