Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Jamie Spillane and orchestral conducting with the UConn Symphony Orchestra director Harvey Felder. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and in 2016 I earned a Master of Science in Music Education at the University of Bridgeport. I am currently the music director of the Northeast Connecticut Community Orchestra where I conduct an all volunteer string orchestra of 30 people in two seasonal concerts every year. In addition to conducting, I play viola with with two Connecticut based orchestras, perform with local chamber groups and created a program of English Music for Viola and Piano which premiered a piece which had not been previously been performed in public for 100 years. The student decides how fast he/she will progress by practicing very hard, or by working at a more moderate pace. Once again, I always participate in the learning process, as this method of teaching will enhance the private lesson, and a mutual enjoyment and respect will develop! My teaching method is similar to the Suzuki Pedagogy in essence, however I have expanded much upon my early Suzuki Pedagogy training. I believe a skilled educator utilizes many avenues of knowledge to create a product individualized for each student, the years have taught me this.
