I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2001, I graduated from Russian Academy Of Music in Moscow with a Masters Of the Arts degree in Trumpet Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play both at the Allice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as touring the world and performing major Jazz Festivals such as Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and many more. My musical background began when at 7 yrs. old I was playing the piano with my mothers instruction. I became a self taught student in brass and piano and later was accepted as a Music major to West Chester University. During HS I became known as a trumpet soloist in Regional and State Bands and in the Salvation Army brass program a cornet soloist. I'm hands-on, affirming, and challenging at the same time: I believe in gently recognizing areas of improvement, which we work on through fostering a positive, "no-wrong-answers" approach. I create a safe space for my students and encourage them to explore all areas and facets of the instrument; in doing so, students are then able to express themselves more dynamically in classical music, and to improvise more creatively in jazz. My love for teaching began as a peer tutor in college. I tutored students in piano, guitar, bass ear training, and music theory. I began to love teaching when I noticed the change and progress it creates within people. While in college, I taught at a musical theatre camp as a music teacher. I taught music theory, ear training, and vocal music. Right after I graduated college I was accepted into the music education program at Teachers College Columbia University where I received my masters degree in music education along with certification in New York state to teach Pre-K through 12.
