Hello! I am a trumpet player and music theoretician who loves teaching and sharing my knowledge with students of all ages. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Idaho's esteemed Lionel Hampton School of Music with a BM in Trumpet Performance, a BM in Music Education, a BS in Music Theory, and a Minor in Jazz Studies. For trumpet students I initially provide my own material, based on the exercises which I have found to be beneficial in my own playing. Early on, I'll ask most students to play a recording of one of their favorite songs, which we'll use to improvise to as well as for ear-training purposes. Teaching has been an integral part of my own musical development. When not performing I was the resident trumpet teacher and embouchure specialist at the San Francisco School Of Jazz and have taught privately on an ongoing basis.
