For beginning students who are children, I typically start by making the trumpet a game. Focusing on setting up a firm embouchure and obtaining a clear buzz on the mouthpiece sets up students for success! Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I am a graduate of LIU Post who holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education, Trombone Studies. During my time at LIU, I spent time taking lessons in clarinet, tuba, baritone horn/euphonium, piano, and trumpet. I am currently a Chorus/General Music teacher in Roosevelt. In addition to my day time job, I have maintained a small low brass studio but am looking to expand.
