I am a huge fan of the Arban's technique book for brass, but I like to keep lessons fun with songs that challenge my students at their level. Once the student has progressed to the intermediate level - solid fundamentals, musicianship, and a desire for learning - I introduce solo repertoire. I first began teaching in the summer of 2011 as a volunteer for a music camp and instantly fell in love with teaching. My first lesson teacher engrained in me the importance of sharing knowledge with colleagues and the younger generations. I am not a fan of "rote learning" so my lessons tend to include a large amount of cognitive thinking by me constantly asking questions and making you pay attention to your own playing habits.
