I first started teaching in 2019 after finishing up the college portion of my time at Temple. I am a big fan of online teaching. My philosophy of teaching music is that every child and adult can learn to play an instrument. I am passionate about teaching music including all genres of music. I love collaborating with different styles, cross-cultural and groups like the photo of my band students working on our Indigenous music project with a local Native group. To me, the student's journey ALWAYS comes first, and I believe that is why I have been able to have been teaching for 20 years. Most of my students stay with me for up to 11 years as I teach them how to speak music fluently by studying several genres and perhaps multiple instruments. I have gained a passion for teaching from the people that taught and inspired me. I have worked with high school students and middle school students and find it rewarding to see them grow and progress into better musicians. I have enjoyed finding ways to keep my students motivated and wanting to come back and pursue their talent that they can spread with the world. I want each student to be able to study what it is that they find interesting and fun, so I will try to include music from musicians that my students take interest in. Read More
