Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

We will work together to develop your passion and appreciation for music and keep you on the path of progression. Typically for classical piano students, I use Alfred’s curriculum (both the student and Adult levels depending on need) and once a classical foundation is learned, we venture into ear training and learning a variety of genres. For voice students, I start with a full vocal assessment and then based on their desired outcomes, work the client to set a course of learning individualized for them. Read More

With most of my beginning students, I like to use Alfred's Premier series. However, I have used other series such as Faber or Bastien with some other students, especially if they have had prior lessons and were taught on those methods. I always like to use lesson, performance, and theory books, to allow students to not only learn new concepts as they progress, but also learn pieces that can become performance-ready, and gain a wider understanding for the theory behind the musical concepts. I use a variety of methods for my teaching style. I usually have a few method books that I bring to a first lesson, and after meeting the student I will decide on the best one. Once the student has progressed and shows some motivation to be slightly challenged, I'll introduce "popular" music so that the student feels a sense of accomplishment! Music is associated with movies, radio, etc., so to be able to play something recognizable is exciting for the student and the teacher. Read More
