Featured Lithonia Piano Teachers

Norman T

Instruments:

I have enjoyed teaching and helping students of all ages for 22 years in achieving their goals in learning to play their instruments.  Educated at Columbus State University with a Music Education degree, I teach many instruments including piano, guitar, including Classical style, banjo, saxophone, clarinet and flute.  If you would like to start on the trumpet or trombone, I can help you as well.  I specialize in working with the novice musician, giving them a solid foundation in instrumental technique and musical knowledge.  I can also help the more accomplished player advance to the level he or she desires.

Deesha P

Instruments:

I have been a pianist for 13 years and a flutist for 12 years. I hope to share my lifelong passion for music through teaching.

Greg M

Instruments:

A lifelong music student who began piano lessons at the age of seven. He sang in church long before that. He studied at the Birmingham Southern University Conservatory at age fourteen in classical music. It was then that he became a church pianist as well. He loves to play different styles of music including show tunes, gospel, and pop. He has accompanied school choirs, and churches on the piano for several years. He is also a singer and had a choral focus as a music education major.

Nicole N

Instruments:

I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher.  I have spent the last seventeen years working with children of all ages and sharing my love of music as a classroom music teacher and private piano teacher.  I am passionate about connecting with the children I teach.  I love watching them smile and grow up into such amazing human beings.  I am also passionate about music.  I enjoy listening to live music, performing music and dancing to music.  It is a big part of my life.  My husband and I have recently moved to Roswell from Texas, and I am looking forward to teaching new piano students.

Nathaniel S

Instruments:

I am a very enthusiastic musician who is serious about the enrichment of people involving their lives with music. I am a graduate from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. I am also currently an online student with The School of Audio Engineering and will be obtaining a Master of Arts/Master of Sciences in the areas of Music Technologies. I have experience in overseas travel for performance, in which gives me an edge of diversity of interaction with aspiring musicians. During my collegiate career I have had the opportunity to perform with Intercolligiate bands across the nation and the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.

More Information About Piano Lessons

Most students start out with a keyboard or digital piano. We recommend a full size keyboard with 88 weighted keys - weighted keyboards will have a touch response similar to a real piano. However, if purchasing a real piano is in your budget, we think that a real acoustic piano will provide you and the student with the highest level of satisfaction during practice time.
Musika offers customized one-on-one music lessons in your home - a smart and simple solution for busy parents and students. The convenience of in-home lessons allows you to save time without having to transport your child to class, allows your child to maximize their busy schedule, and provides a safe and familiar environment in which to learn.
Our teachers create a customized lesson plan for every student. Topics covered during Musika's piano lessons may include, but are not limited to: learning the notes of the piano, how to read music and play piano chord charts, how to play piano by ear, music theory, musicianship skills, and most importantly, how to have fun playing the piano!
The piano is an easy instrument for beginners of all ages. We have adults who are total novices, some who haven't played their instrument in 10 years, and some who are more advanced students looking to take their skills to the next level. Our teachers have proven methods to get you the results you desire.
Our recommended starting age for piano is 4 or 5, with students capable of playing the keys properly and with sufficient strength in the fingers and hands. Young students also should have begun learning to count and to read. No matter what the age may be, the piano is an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of music, including music theory and basic composition techniques.
