For students of all ages, I like to lead with the quote from Marcel Moyse; "Practicing is a matter a time, patience and intelligent work", for I believe that once this is applied to the idea of practicing and general encounters with ones instrument, then success and progress is guaranteed. Aside from that principle, I like the idea of independent work from students to keep them accountable on the journey to becoming a musician but a more interactive and demonstrative approach during the lesson to give students an idea of what needs to be done while being that good role model so that they may keep motivated work hard at becoming the best possible musicians. Maintaining the smile that comes from the joy of expanding skills and creating a unique world of sound is my calling, and I believe every student deserves the chance to experience that. My teaching style is for my students to succeed. Since I have an Administrators degree and have concentrated on many Healthcare/Science classes regarding disabilities, I can tailor my lessons to students who may be dyslexic or have ADHD. Some students are visual learners, where others respond more to sound. I also encourage students to develop their ears as this enables them early on to be able to recognize notes and to play without music. Read More

In the NAVY I picked up the guitar and I've been professionally playing for over 25 years. Read More

Teaching provides me with an opportunity to share my love of music with those who want to learn to become better vocalists. I'm classically trained, but I grew up singing Gospel and listening to R&B and Pop music. I love being on stage, and have experience performing in Opera, Musicals, as wells as solo performances.
