I trained classically for almost six years, and then branced out to old-time, celtic, and bluegrass fiddling. I performed in, and won, several fiddle contests throughout high school, but then discovered jazz and improvisation, and found my true calling.   I have performed with a wide variety of groups, from traditional bluegrass to country-punk, from folky singer-songwriters to a hip-hop group, and love nothing more then creativly interacting with others, adding my own voice to whatever else is going on. My methods are geared toward the individual. Oftentimes I might start with a methods book for a beginner, but supplement it with musical choices by the individual. In selecting these choices, I find ways to simplify the music so that the student is able to be able to play it. My method is also based on questions that the student might ask. So while we will have an approach that is organized and structured, I find that addressing seemingly unrelated musical questions, can actually be incorporated into the tasks at hand. Read More

I have performed at Carnegie Hall in flute and competed in the competitive divisions of marching band ranking second place in the Arcadia Division. Setting the pace for succeeding years, that band has now ranked first place in that competition numerous times. I have always had an interest in classical music since I did ballet.
