My name is Anthony Richardson, also known as TJ. I am the former lead guitarist of the Detroit-based heavy metal band Halloween. I also have my own progressive metal project, called Salvation’s End. I spent many years touring the US and Europe with Halloween, which was an incredible experience. I graduated from Full Sail University with an Associate’s Degree in music production. My teaching methods are based on what interests the student. For beginning students, I begin my lessons with the basics of the instrument and use beginning method books for basic techniques. In addition, I choose some basic popular songs to give them an excitement for what they are learning. This is the basic pattern I use for all my students. I will adjust it depending on the age of the student. I like to start with the Christopher Parkening Guitar Method. Once basic note reading is learned the student will move on to easy solo repertoire; I want to introduce "real" pieces as early as possible to give a sense of accomplishment to the student.
