I've been teaching music on and off for almost 20 years I write my own songs and find this a good way to teach as well. I've had many great students, been in many great bands, never fame nor fortune but always fun and great music. My favorite moments are connecting to other people through music. Music is a language unto itself and the best music is a conversation. Depending on experience level I like to get people making music as soon as possible. I know that trudging through the basics can be tiring. Of course some basics are neccesary but I like to make the basics sound as musical as possible. We will cover the fundamentals but we'll do so in such a way that it won't feel like so much work. I like to use books, depending on skill level, for reference but I have a very hands on approach and feel that the best work to be done together is the stuff that can't be found in the book.
