I began my musical journey in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 10 when I started taking piano lessons. In Middle School, the piano was replaced with the flute which soon became my greatest passion. By the time I was only 14 years old I was already performing for various festivals and private receptions in the Shreveport area. After High School, I continued my musical career with a music scholarship to Centenary College of Lousiana where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education. Read More

I like to think I'm a laid-back kind of guy, though I can get loud and boisterous sometimes when a student figures something hard out. I wonder sometimes if I don't get more excited about a student's breakthrough than he does! My wife sometimes tells me I have no "indoor voice," lol. I don't give grades (except for my college students, because I have to), but if I did, the grade would be either "A" or "I," as in incomplete, as in do it over until it's great. Read More

I blend the tried-and-true poise of classical technique with holistic approaches to satisfy two purposes: 1) the traditional desire to hone skill with practice and discipline, and 2) the psychological development of the student's independent musicianship. Music without expression is only sport. I am a passionate flutist and both of my parents played flute so I have played for any years . I am retired librarian and teacher and have taught in public schools. As I have taken lessons from several teachers, I have a brod musical background inclassical, jazz, and Latin music. I currently play in the Pike's Peak flute choir in Colorado Springs and would love to instruct and inspire beginning and intermediate students or play in group of advanced students. Read More
