I love playing the flute and being able to share my passion with others. I earned my BM in 2007 from Florida State University. There were so many wonderful playing opportunities here and as an undergraduate I was playing in the top orchestra. I was also a member of the world renown Marching CHIEFS where I served as section leader to 50 plus flute players. While I found most of my professional joy in teaching concert band, the guitar classes proved to be a challenge. My students were encouraged to stay motivated by practicing everyday songs in their leisure instead of strictly sticking to the books for a grade. Always start where the student is, and take them from there. Always encourage and inspire students to be better than yesterday. Progress, no matter the amount, is progress. Take your own pace.
